Propaganda

While Maggie's Dad was in Russia, he came across this postcard, which claims that "all happy babies are born under the Soviet star." As a patriotic and happy American baby, Maggie begs to differ.

9 Months Old!

Maggie is 9 months old, and is less willing to sit still while posing for her monthly picture than she once was.

Outer Banks

So far Maggie is having a great time in the Outer Banks. She's been going to the beach and the pool and is having a terrific time playing with her cousins, grandparents, and aunt and uncle. Maggie also got a skull-and-crossbones tattoo for her cousin Jake's birthday pirate cruise and climbed the Jockey Ridge sand dunes for a scenic sunset. Altogether, she just loves summer vacation!

Camp!

Maggie and I had a great weekend in New Hampshire on Asquam Lake with Bill's aunt and cousins. It was a relaxing place to spend the Fourth - and there was always someone around to play with Maggie. Her favorite friend was Bailey the Dog. Bailey tolerated Maggie, but I can't say that he loved her quite as much as she loved him (perhaps because she pulled his hair). He was sweet to her, though.

Maggie also "particiapted" in a baby-crawling race. She won a bronze medal! Of course, there were only three babies, and Maggie never crawled an inch. As you can see, she was a little overwhelmed. It was really loud, and she couldn't see Bailey the Dog, which was what she was supposed to crawl to. And sadly, I may have laughed a little when she just sat there and cried.

Ma Ma Ma Ma .... Torture

I will post tonight on our wonderful weekend at Camp Asquam (in New Hampshire), including Maggie's bronze medal in the Fourth of July baby-crawling race. But now I have to tell you what Maggie is doing at this moment. She's fighting her morning nap, which I expected after being away for a few days. What I didn't expect is for her to be moaning her new favorite word ... Ma Ma Ma Ma (said in an appropriately sad voice).

It is such a sweet word to hear, but so much harder to not go in there when she's calling my name!
