Hurricane Irene

We were stuck inside for much of the weekend due to Hurricane Irene, and it was actually wonderful! We've had a really busy summer, so all four of us enjoyed the time just relaxing and playing as a family.

Here are pictures from a sampling of our activities:

Tea parties galore, shucking corn (or "cob on the corn" as Maggie likes to say), watching the wind blow (and blow and blow), bathtub fingerpainting, and finally, when the wind stopped blowing quite so hard, a little trip across the street to the store to get supplies for pasta sauce. We ended the weekend with a trip to Mike's Pastries, where Maggie somehow managed to eat three cookies so quickly that we couldn't stop her!

All in all, it was a lighter storm than expected and a better weekend than expected!
