The Girls Meet President Obama!

Thanks to Bill and his hard (extracurricular) work, me, my Aunt Lisa, Maggie, and Molly got to greet President Obama at the airport when he arrived in Boston today. The girls were really well-behaved, waiting for an hour or so on the floor at the airport and then another thirty minutes outside in the cold fog. There were only about thirty people greeting him, so he shook everyone's hands, including Maggie and Molly's! He took both of Molly's hands and said, "Who's this?" After he shook my hand, he went to greet Maggie, and she looked up at him and said, "Hi, I'm Maggie." He said, "Well, hello Maggie!" It was great - a little conversation between Maggie and the President of the United States!

Maggie liked meeting him, although she was disappointed by a couple of things today: (1) that she was not going on his plane (I think she thought we were going to the airport to get on a plane, probably to the beach) and (2) that President Obama was not coming to dinner at our house - again, I think she was confused, since Bill worked at a dinner with the president tonight. She liked talking about President Obama, calling him "President O'Molly" and "President Okansa" (?) as jokes throughout the day - she thought she was hilarious.

We didn't get a picture of President Obama actually shaking anyone's hand - it's hard with two adults and two kids - there were no hands left for taking pictures! But we do have a few from the day!
