Swmming
Last weekend Maggie and her Mom went swimming at the neighborhood Marriott. Maggie seemed very curious about the concept, and perhaps a bit unsure as to what was going on. But she didn't cry a bit or put up any fuss, so we'll take that as a vote in favor of future swimming.

Inauguration
Maggie was delighted to be present for the beginning of a new era when President Obama was sworn in on the West Front of the Capitol on January 20. She was more than happy to brave the cold and the crowds to be part of such a momentous occasion (even if she slept through the vast bulk of the ceremony and address). Maggie hopes that she'll be back again in four years -- and next time she'll be old enough for her parents to hit up one of the inaugural balls.

The Capitol all decked-out

Maggie had to unbutton her coat to show her Obama pride (and get her diaper changed)

Can you spot us in the crowd?

Our view would have been much better were it not for this tree. Maggie now has a strong dislike for Evergreens

Maggie Goes to Washington
NYC
Last weekend Maggie made her first trip to New York City. She got in on Friday night and spent a very cold Saturday morning touristing midtown. Maggie had brunch with her Mom's friend Mary Anne and then strolled Central Park (you'll just have to trust us that she's actually in the stroller underneath the bubble and blankets). Maggie looks forward to re-visiting New York soon -- hopefully when it is a bit warmer.

Milestones
Maggie has definitely learned to put things in her mouth. She's using this new skill every chance she gets.
.
She's also learned to roll over!

More Christmas
After returning from her various travels, Maggie celebrated Christmas with her Boston-area relatives. She enjoyed a great dinner with her Grandma, Great-Nana, and three uncles, culminating in her Uncle John bringing about Maggie's first big belly laugh. Maggie also celebrated an extended Christmas with her Grandpa and Susan. She'll be sad to discover that there are no more Christmas celebrations for many months.
