Today we took the bus to Ravello, a town high up in the mountains with incredible views of the sea below. We wandered through town and then found our way to the cooking class Claire was scheduled to take. The class was held at a beautiful villa with an incredible terrace and lawn. Claire learned to make some amazing Italian dishes, and is looking forward to trying out the recipes at home. After the learning portion came the eating portion, which involved so many courses that Claire wasn't hungry again until the next morning. Claire's favorites were the eggplant involtini, the fritters, and the lemon chicken.
Meanwhile, Maggie and Bill played with Mama Agata's dog and enjoyed some of the delicious lemon cake. The bus ride up the mountain hadn't agreed with Maggie, so she and Bill walked back to Amalfi via 1300 stairs that twisted through the lemon groves, with amazing views throughout. We stopped in Atrani to visit that town's cathedral and to enjoy a snack in the piazza. After a nap and some gelato, we met Claire, went on a walk on the pier, and enjoyed a drink in Amalfi's piazza. Luckily, Claire had returned with plenty of leftovers, so Bill was able to enjoy some of Mama Agata's famous cooking.
