Italy Day 1 -- Redeye

We departed for Italy at 5:45pm on Friday, May 14. The primary advantage to traveling overseas with a one-year-old is that we were seated in the bulkhead, with plenty of legroom for our 8-hour flight. The primary disadvantage of traveling overseas with a one-year-old is, well, let's just say we didn't read any books or watch any movies aboard this flight. Maggie had a little bassinet that attached to the airplane wall but, as you can see from this pictures, she wasn't too interested in sleeping. She eventually slept a few hours on Bill's lap and then, before we knew it, the lights were on and it was time for breakfast (despite being only midnight or so EDT). We landed in Rome at 7:35am local time, a few minutes early. We were tired, but ready to begin our Italian vacation.
