It didn't take long for Maggie to settle into some very fun Italy routines. She learned how to say "ciao" and would wave goodbye and say "ciao" (or "ciao people") whenever we left anywhere. She would receive a free lollipop whenever we visited the market, and was also given free gelato, brioche, candy, and various other treats on a regular basis. Whenever we visited a church, Maggie would seek out the inevitable statue of Mary and Jesus, calling out "A mama a baby, a mama a baby" as she searched.
Maggie's other favorite routines, as pictured below, were sticking her hands in every fountain we encountered and reading her Brown Bear book on the balcony off our living room. But Maggie's favorite routine was visiting the fountain in town that was home to some half-dozen turtles. She loved them, especially the baby turtle, about whom she could not stop talking. We visited every day and are now considering investing in some turtles for our bathtub.
